The 30th Training Week for Practical Dermatology and Venereology (FOBI) in Munich is one of the leading educational conferences in dermatology in the German-speaking world. I was delighted to be invited as a speaker this year and to contribute to the scientific programme with a lecture entitled “Deep Chemical Peeling and Facelift.
Throughout the week, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and other specialists came together to discuss the latest scientific findings, innovative treatment approaches, and interdisciplinary concepts.
For me as a facial plastic surgeon, this conference is of particular importance because successful facial rejuvenation does not end with surgery. The quality of the skin plays a crucial role in achieving harmonious and long-lasting results. For this reason, regular exchange with dermatologists is an essential part of both my clinical practice and my comprehensive treatment philosophy.
As part of the workshop “Aesthetic Dermatology: Chemical Peeling,” I had the pleasure of speaking alongside renowned experts Prof. Dr. Claudia Borelli, Dr. Oliver Philip Kreyden, and Dr. Klaus Fritz. My lecture, “Deep Chemical Peeling and Facelift,” focused on the treatment protocol for deep phenol peeling, postoperative care, and its effective combination with facelift surgery.
The main focus of my presentation was deep phenol peeling. I outlined a structured treatment protocol, emphasized the importance of meticulous postoperative care, and discussed how deep chemical peels can be combined with facelift surgery to optimize outcomes. When performed in carefully selected patients and as part of a well-designed treatment concept, this combination can produce exceptionally natural and long-lasting results. Success depends not only on surgical expertise but also on a thorough understanding of skin regeneration and wound healing.
The entire conference was of the highest scientific standard. Its comprehensive programme and the intensive exchange with colleagues once again highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing our field.
